The HP G2500A GeneArray scanner is the product of a collaborative effort between HP and Affymetrix. HP's scanner can read DNA probe arrays containing more genetic information and can scan faster than was previously possible by other commercial scanners. This enhanced capability is expected to accelerate Affymetrix's efforts to commercialize the next generation of probe arrays and should greatly increase the scope of applications for probe arrays. With few moving parts and computer control for added reliability and ease of use, the GeneArray scanner creates a new standard for GeneChip probe array analysis.
