Brief Description:
Analect Instruments model Micro-XAD FTIR microscope with a model FXK-639 detector. Unit is also equipped with an external L-150 Light Source.

This unit determines organic compounds by comparing an infrared scan with the IR response of known compounds through a database. Used for environmental studies because the EPA has produced such a database for over 100 pollutants specified in the Clean Air Act of 1990 . The microscope allows samples about 25 by 25 micrometers to be analyzed as compared with larger samples analyzed in a spectrometer with enclosed sample compartment.
