Reichert/Jung Autocut 2040 Microtome. This universal multirange microtome has stable and precise microfeed system for sectioning paraffin and plastic. Automatic electric specimen retraction in return stroke protects knife and specimen from damage and gives improved ribbons in serial sectioning. Specimen feed adjustable from 0.5 to 60u. Roller bearing guideway provides easier handwheel movement. Motor driven course feed speeds up initial trimming. Two speeds available, 70u/sec. and 700u/sec. Backlighting with complete range of specimen and knife holders optionally available. Optical equipment for quality control of sections. Motorized course advance of specimen cylinder.
