This fully functional Echoflex T11/1A is a pulse echo meter (TDR/PET) for localization of faults on metallic transmission lines.
Network cables and coaxial cables from less than 5 metres to over 5 kilometres can be tested with high precision and resolution.
This precision instrument is made by Salzgitter Elektronik GMBH
The CRT display is bright and has no burn marks.
The CRT display indicates the type of fault and the LCD display indicates the distance to the fault with high precision.
Six full scale distance ranges are 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000 metres, these are selected from the front panel pushbutton switches.
A three digit thumb wheel switch allows cable velocity settings from 000 to 199 to be programmed and the instructions list seven velocities in metres/uS for the most common types of cables, ranging from Foam-Poly, Solid-Poly, Paper, PVC , Open Air etc and can be used to locate faults in cables including underground systems.
Comparison readings can be made between two transmission lines in the L1/L2 mode and crosstalk measurements are made using the k1 mode on balanced and network lines.
This unit is suitable for field or lab work and is ideal as an educational instrument for teaching the principles of transmission lines from very basic to advanced levels.
Cable lengths can easily be determined and velocity factors can be determined from the cable length for any metallic transmission lines including 50 and 75 ohm coaxial cables.
The unit is powered from an internal 12 volt NiCad battery pack (that is in good condition) this battery is trickle charged via a DC connector on the front panel using a mains to DC plug pack.
The plug pack is not supplied. You will need to purchase a 12 volt DC 200 mA plug pack.
The unit automatically turns off after 5 minutes unless the "on" switch is momentarily pushed, this "auto off" mode conserves the batteries.
Total power consumption is only 7 watts.
This unit is in very good condition and it is calibrated.
It comes with a 20 page operating manual, test lead and viewing hood as well as a leather carry bag with accessories pocket.
Total unpackaged weight is 5.5 kgs; shipping weight will be kept below 7 kgs.
