The Siemens V94.2 GT unit is a single-shaft, single casing design, equipped with 2 silo-type
combustion chambers, a 16-stage compressor and a 4-stage turbine. The gas turbine has a
nominal generation capacity of 120 MW at iso conditions and has been operated in opencycle
mode. The units can runb on distelate and gas in a dual mode. The units have been predominantly used as stand by machines. The units are currently installed
with dual fuel Siemens diffusion-type burners, capable of operation on distillate-oil liquid and
natural gas. Currently the gas turbines operate primarily on distillate-oil liquid fuel but with
minor modification, they are able to operate on natural gas.
Each GT is coupled to an air cooled 125MVA generator that generates power at 10.5 kv
The station auxiliary voltage is 6 KV and can receive its incoming power either through
back-feed from the grid or a separate station transformer depending on the requirement and
grid connection. It is also equipped with black-start diesel engine generator to allow for total
black-start conditions .
