All blueprints and Manufacturing information is available with this press.
E.W. Bliss only built one of these presses in 1951,
for the Department of Defense (Navy).
The press was rebuilt in 1998 at a cost in excess of $2 million.
Besides the mechanical rebuild a wet (hydraulic) clutch,
along with, new Allen-Bradly Panel-View controls, was installed.
Prior to having it disassembled (last year) and put into storage,
we made a CD-R of the press in operation should you need it.
12" Stroke 12 SPM 60" x 72" Bed
The press was being used by SPX - Contech out of Clarksville, TN. They are a tier one supplier to Ford, GM, Chrysler, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Honda, etc. The automotive industry came to them and requested that they change from forging the components to die casting them to lower their costs. They then changed from a forging company to a die cast company. Thus the reason for selling the press.
The press is appox 670,000 # and stans some 40' above ground. Crown @ 200,000 # - Ram @ 180,000 # - Hydraulic Clutch @ 37,500 # - Tie Rods @ 18,000 # - Tie Rod Nuts @ 2,500 #. You will find attached the complete set of assembly drawings from E.W. Bliss.
The press was disassembled last year and put into storage at a facility. The warehouse has the crane capacity to load the components and assemblies that they have.
