I do not have a fork truck big enough to load this machine, so that would be
in addition to what we are looking at.
"The American workhorse: By popular demand, we added the Super Speed package
to our best-selling VF-3 with 40" x 20" x 25" (1016 x 508 x 635) travels.
Haas VF-3SS models come standard with an innovative 12,000-rpm spindle, 833
ipm (21. 2 m/min) cutting feeds, an ultra-fast tool changer and 1400 ipm
(35.6 m/min) rapids. The unique inline, direct-drive system, powered by a 30
hp (22.4 kW) vector drive, couples the motor directly to the spindle. This
Haas-only design creates less vibration, less heat and less noise than other
systems -- which, of course, means better surface finishes, thermal
stability and very quiet operation.
The newly designed 24+1 side-mount tool changer uses lighter materials and a
high-performance servomotor, for tool changes that take 1. 6 seconds
tool-to-tool. High-pitch ballscrews and high-torque servomotors on all axes
provide express-lane rapids of 1400 ipm (35.6 m/min) (35.6 m/min). The Haas
control features advanced tool management, single-button features, 15" color
LCD monitor and a USB port."
