New in 1990, this is a fully automatic forging line EUMUCO model SF 2000. Although It was used for the forging of knife-blades for cutlery, it is also capable of producing a great variety of products including hand wrenches, scissors, chisels, fittings, pliers, and much more. Current blank forging weight is 250-280 grams, however, with minor modifications the line can also produce parts weighing 500-600 grams.
In exceptional condition, the Line is still installed at the original plant site of the company who purchased it new from SMS Eumuco.
The Line functions as follows: Flat material of approximately (6) meters long is put on a lifting table and then moves on a roller conveyor into a welding machine where the ends of the flat bars are welded together. At this point a gripper feeding device transports the material to an induction heating station where the flat bars are heated and further onto the crop shear model WSA 31,5 where the blanks are cutoff just prior to forging.
The blank is then automatically forwarded to the forging machine, model SF 2000. In the forging machine the blank is formed in (2) cavities (dies) into the final shape.
This Forging Line can be operated by one person which makes for an economically superior operation when compared to producing such parts on "Stand-Alone" Forging Hammers or by other methods.
