Carman Industries introduces a Vibrating Glass or metal Quenching Feeder with bolt-in, abrasion-resistant chrome-carbide overlay quench trough. Water-tight motors and rubber isolation springs are designed to operate in highly corrosive atmospheres with very little maintenance.
As hot, molten glass or metal is quenched in the water pool, a steam evacuation hood captures excessive moisture to keep the work environment comfortable. Solidified cullet settles to the bottom and conveys along the length of the feeder until emerging from the pool. A specially designed "wicking lip" at the discharge end of the feeder minimizes water carryover to downstream equipment.
In addition to its wear-resistant liner, special features of this heavy-duty 18 inch wide by 17 foot long feeder include a corrosion resistant epoxy paint system, water-proof TENV vibrating motors with adjustable eccentric weights for retention control, and corrosion resistant rubber isolation springs for minimizing vibration transmission. The isolation system also reduces installation costs by eliminating the requirement for heavy foundations.
