The Dimension® 3D Printing Group is a business unit of Stratasys, Inc., based in Minneapolis, MN. Dimension 3D printers ? which include the Dimension 768 BST and SST the Dimension 1200 BST and SST ? are networked, desktop modeling systems that provide CAD (Computer-Aided-Design) users a fast, office-friendly, low-cost alternative for building functional 3D prints.
Dimension 3D printers build accurate models layer by layer using durable ABS plastic, allowing users to not only evaluate design concepts, but test 3D prints for functionality, form and fit. As the first desktop 3D printer that sells for less than $19,000, Dimension incorporates many key features found in modeling systems that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
Stratasys holds more than 88 granted and pending patents worldwide focused on rapid prototyping.
Dimension 3D Printing ? Stratasys, Inc. is located at 14950 Martin Drive, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55344-2020. www.dimensionprinting.com or www.stratasys.com
Stratasys manufactures rapid prototyping and 3D printing systems using its patented Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process. These systems create 3D models directly from all 3D CAD files. They are environmentally safe and operate in an office environment. The Prodigy office modeling system combines the ease, speed and simplicity of 3D printing with the major benefit of producing strong and durable models using ABS plastic material. Parts can be finished and assembled as a functional model to simulate end-product performance.
The FDM line of rapid prototyping systems includes the FDM3000, FDM8000, FDM Maxum and FDM Titan. All of these systems produce fast, accurate functional prototypes. InSight, Stratasys' easy-to-learn proprietary operating software, provides PC-like user interfaces. InSight orients and slices the model and generates tool paths for the build process.
The FDM 3000, 8000 and Maxum build models using ABS plastic, the most widely used material for today?s injection molded products. In addition, all three machines offer WaterWorks soluble support system for simple support removal.
The FDM Maxum has an extra-large build envelope of 600x500x600mm (23.6x19.7x23.6 in) for big prototypes and tooling patterns and masters.
The FDM Titan offers multiple materials including polycarbonate, polyphenylsulfone (PPSF) and ABS. These materials offer users such high performance characteristics as superior impact strength, strength at high temperatures, flame-retardant qualities, sterilization capability, and resistance to oils, chemicals and acids.
